The Prime Minister Jim Marurai today received a group of fifteen students and teachers from Cefatn College on the island of Rangiroa, in the Tuamotu Islands in French Polynesia.
Some of the members come from the neighbouring islands of Takaroa and Kaukura.
Lead by teacher Josephine Desroches the group is on a ten day cultural exchange visit and meet with their Cook Islands families.
The Prime Minister who is also Minister of Education said he was very honoured to welcome the group who later presented him with gifts of shell leis.
Desroches responded in saying that they were truly grateful, the PM was able to spare time to welcome and to meet with them.
The Cook Islands and Tahiti have common family links dating back centuries.
