The new New Zealand High Commissioner Brian Donnelly this morning presented his credentials to the Prime Minister Jim Marurai.
The presentation officially marks his term in the Cook Islands, however he will not be in office until Monday, according to NZ High Commissioner's staff, Sophie Vickers.
Donnelly and wife Linda who arrived last night, are no strangers to the Cook Islands having lived here from 1977-80 in Takitumu district where he taught at Titikaveka College.
During that time he played rugby for the district and the national team.
Donnelly recently retired from his role as a NZ First MP to take his new post. He replaces former NZ High Commissioner, John Bryan.
