Its been announced, the Permanent Residency (PR) ceremony for more than 200 residents will be held on April 4 2008.
Foreign Affairs and Immigration Minister released the good news following a final meeting with Cabinet last week.
According to the Minister most of the new PRs are married to Cook Islanders.
Last month Parliament passed amendements to the Entry, Residence and Departure Act to allow those married to Cook Islanders and permanent residents to be granted PR; extend the total number of certificates of PR from 500 to 600 and for applicants to prove a positive contribution to or investment in the Cook Islands.
